BIG W began releasing stock of the Pokemon TCG 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collection: Day on 20 October 2026, ahead of its scheduled Australian release. CardWatch detected the stock becoming available and sent alerts to the community, but heavy traffic caused significant issues across BIG W's website as shoppers rushed to secure the collection. What happened during the BIG W drop? The Day version of the 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collection appeared in stock at BIG W, triggering a wave of traffic to the retailer's website. Shoppers reported slow loading times, difficulty adding products to their carts and problems completing checkout. One of the more successful approaches appeared to be finding the product through BIG W's search function and adding it to the cart from there, although this didn't guarantee a successful purchase. There are indications that further stock may become available, although no additional drop or timing has been confirmed. CardWatch will continue monitoring for further availability. Login and checkout issues Authentication was another major frustration during the drop. Customers reported being unable to sign in as traffic increased, potentially putting shoppers who weren't already logged in at a disadvantage. Even those who managed to add the collection to their carts weren't guaranteed a successful checkout, with reports of errors throughout the process. At the time of writing, CardWatch has received no reports of successful manual checkouts, although there is evidence that some purchases were completed using automated checkout tools. For future BIG W drops, being signed in beforehand may help avoid some of these issues, although it won't necessarily prevent checkout failures during periods of heavy demand. What about the Night UPC? So far, only the Day version has been confirmed as part of this BIG W drop. There's no confirmed indication yet that the Night version will follow, although further stock releases remain possible. CardWatch will continue monitoring both versions for availability changes.
